Originally hailing from Florida, Marques Toliver is a 24 year-old classically trained musician and vocalist. His childhood was soundtracked by Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, and teenage years divided as much between classical music as Destiny’s Child. Marques arrived in London via New York in 2009, the latest stop on a road lined with collaborations, recommendations and friendships forged with Adele, TV on the Radio, Grizzly Bear, Bat For Lashes and Holly Miranda. He recently made his television debut on ‘Later With Jools Holland’ and his first EP ‘Butterflies Are Not Free’ is out now on Bella Union. A truly spectacular live talent, Marques is a once-in-a-lifetime talent who never fails to delight as a live performer. This sees a full band performance at Notting Hill’s wonderful seated Tabernacle venue.
